Red Wings trade Olli Maatta
The 30 year old blueliner will join his fifth NHL team.
The Detroit Red Wings have traded defenseman Olli Maatta to Utah HC in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick.
Check it out:
Maatta has gone pointless in 7 games with Detroit so far this season, playing mostly alongside veteran Erik Gustafsson. Utah will be his 5th NHL franchise after stints with Detroit, the Los Angeles Kings, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Maatta is a two time Stanley Cup champion from his back to back wins with the Penguins in 2016 and 2017.
