The Detroit Red Wings’ prospects ran through the Maple Leafs despite playing against Toronto starting Goalie James Reimer. Detroit’s special teams made the difference, scoring 2 power play goals on 9 occasions, while turning away 9 attempts by the Leafs’ PP. Defensive prospect Nick Jensen continued to impress, opening the game’s scoring with a power-play goal in the second period, a one-timer off a great pass from Andrej Nestrasil. The power-play continued to function in the third period as young Centerman Riley Sheehan put in a rebound of defenseman’s Ryan Sproul’s shot. Goalie Petr Mrazek, slated to start the season in the AHL, was impressive with a shutout on 27 shots on net. Coach Mike Babcock was certainly impressed with his Goalie’s performance, stating: ``Your best penalty killer is your goaltender and I thought he was really good, solid, good plays with the puck; He gave us an opportunity``. The regular season cannot come any time sooner! Go Wings!
