No one does it quite like Wes McCauley. The referee’s spirits have not been dampened by the postponed games and the pandemic.
On Tuesday night, as he worked the game between the San Jose Sharks and the Red Wings in Detroit, he got fans on their feet as he called the fighting penalties on Jacob Middleton and Givani Smith.
That’s because he did it again and pulled the best call for fighting in NHL history. Check it out:
This is just a fun and great moment for McCauley, who loves to look good in Detroit: after all, the Red Wings did select him in the eighth round, 150th overall, back in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft.
