Wednesday it turns out is a pretty good day if you're a fan of the Minnesota Wild.
First the team announced the return of goaltender Devan Dubnyk from injury, Dubnyk will be back in goal this Thursday when the Wild take on the New York Rangers.
The other bit of good news on Wednesday was the arrival of Jarret Stoll, the newest member of the team who was picked up when he was waived by the Rangers, so it won't be long before he gets to face off against his old team.
“I knew the road trip was coming up this week and I knew when we were flying to Minnesota and I had a chuckle about it for sure,” Stoll said as per the team's official website. “A lot of the guys on the Rangers have been texting already. An ‘I’ll see you tomorrow’ type of thing, so it is what it is. I’m just excited … to get started here."
Coincidently the returning Dubnyk has some familiarity with Stoll from the time they were both members of the Edmonton Oilers organization.
“He’s extremely, extremely hard working,” Dubnyk said. “He’s got a great shot and is unreal on the penalty kill. I think that will be a great addition for us for killing penalties but he has a got a great shot too and can put the puck in the net at the other end if he gets an opportunity.”
Thursday night's game against the Rangers just got a whole lot more interesting for the Wild.
