TSN analyst and NHL insider Darren Dreger hopped onto the airwaves with another hot Matt Duchene rumor earlier this week with Buffalo’s WGR550 radio station. Dreger maintains that the 26-year-old Colorado Avalanche sniper will still be moved this offseason and he adds another team to the list of interested parties: the Buffalo Sabres.
Wow. That’s a new one. We’ve all heard the rumors of the Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins, Nashville Predators and New York Islanders, but the Sabres and new general manager Jason Botterill have been pretty quiet this offseason.
From Dreger:
“I know that CAA group pretty well. Pat Brisson, of course, is the lead agent for Matt Duchene in this. This guy is a deal maker. He’s a negotiator. I can’t say Buffalo isn’t an option, I think that certainly Matt Duchene is willing to consider any option that is thrown his way.”
Interesting choice of words from Dreger. Does he know more than he’s letting on?
