According to TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger, there are "5 or 6" teams who have inquired about Buffalo Sabres forward Taylor Hall, with the New York Islanders emerging as the frontrunner.
From Dreger's most recent radio spot on Buffalo's WGR 55:
"I know there are 5 or 6 teams that have inquired and that have interest. I'd be shocked if the Islanders wasn't one of them. I'd be shocked. Just because they got the space there, they got the need with Anders Lee being out."
Not surprising that the Islanders are high on Hall given captain Anders Lee's season ending injury. But don't be surprised if another contender like the Boston Bruins or the Colorado Avalanche makes things difficult on the Islanders' plans.
