When Mike Babcock arrived in Toronto he warned everyone that the process of rebuilding the franchise would be a long a painful one, however Babcock seems at the very least encouraged by the progress the Leafs have made thus far.

In a recent conversation with Rosie Dimano of the Toronto Star Babcock stated that other than a very rough start to the year the team has been doing what they need to do to improve.

“The big thing here is, any way you look at it, since our first 10 (games) things have gone fairly well for us,’’ said Babcock “To me, I just think you do good things and good things happen. You worry about the process and everything looks after itself.’’

Babcock believes that with time, and with the success of players who buy into the system, such as Leafs forward Leo Komarov, it's only matter of time before everyone buys in.

“The more guys do it right every day . . . the more that (teammates) gravitate towards them,’’ said Babcock. “You want to end up with 25 guys doing it right.’’
