Report: Babcock unhappy with team performance despite win

There's no satisfying Babs.

The Toronto Maple Leafs won a back-and-forth road game against the struggling Edmonton Oilers Thursday night by a final score of 6 to 4.

Despite the win, head coach Mike Babcock was clearly unhappy with the team's performance.

"I thought the game was probably exciting for the fans, but it wasn't very exciting for me. But in the end, we found a way to win a game and that's what you've got to do on the road," Babcock said following the game.

He obviously found the silver lining - a win on the road - but what was probably on his mind were the multiple leads squandered throughout the game, as well as the 45 shots conceded on Freddie Andersen.

The Leafs have made a bad habit of allowing in excess of 30 shots for several games now, and relying on the stellar performance of Andersen to get victories.

This will certainly be an aspect of their game that Babcock will want to shore up as December rolls in.

In other news, with the Matthews vs McDavid confrontation on full display, both superstars finished with a goal apiece, with the former adding an assist in his team's victory.
