Tough break.
If you're a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins or of talented defenseman Olli Maata then we've got some bad news for you.
The Penguins announced on Wednesday that Maatta had been released from hospital, and now we have a clearer picture of when he can be expected to make his return to the line up. By all accounts Maatta may need up to a month in order to recover fully from his injuries.
While it's certainly bad news, optimists will see the silver lining, with fears that Maatta had seriously damaged his internal organs at the time of the injury, and one month lay off comes as a blessing when one contextualizes how bad it could have been.
With that said it will likely come as little or no consolation to fans.
