The worst has been confirmed for Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen, as the team confirmed on Twitter that he is dealing with an upper-body injury.
Ristolainen missed the team's morning skate on Saturday, ahed of their meeting against the Dallas Stars. He was likely injured against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night, but his status was unclear.
Drafted eight overall by the Sabres in 2013, the Finnish defenseman registered 115 points in 286 games played in the NHL. He had his best season last year, when he scored six goals and added 39 assists for a total of 45 points. This season, he had five points in 13 games.
