It would appear that the injury to Johhny Oduya has in fact had some impact on the Blackhawks plans for the NHL trade deadline. According to Bob McKenzie who spoke during TSN's Insider Trading segment, the Blackhawks and more specifically Stan Bowman
"The Chicago Blackhawks have believed to be extensively scouting the (Carolina) Hurricanes lately, looking at (Andrej) Sekera to help bolster the depth on their blue line."However Sekera does not come cheap, McKenzie himself reported the asking price earlier this month, and that price is believed to be a 1st round pick + a prospect. It's a high price for a player that will only be a rental, but the Blackhawks find themselves in a tough spot defensively at the moment.
Like TOR with Cody Franson, CAR believed to be looking for 1st round and a prospect for rental D Sekera. High prices right now.
