In a surprising twist, the Chicago Blackhawks have put two of their forwards on the trading block.

According to a report from Blackhawks insider Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune the Blackhawks are currently shopping Marcus Kruger and furthermore they are putting out feelers in the hopes of finding a trading partner for Andrew Shaw.

Kruger is under contract for three more years at just over $3 million per season, a hefty price for a player who appeared in just 41 games this season and only put up 4 points.

The Shaw situation is more confusing, it was believed that the trade that sent both Teuvo Teravainen and Bryan Bickell would lead to the Hawks re-signing Shaw. Furthermore Shaw will be a restricted free agent on July 1st, so if the Hawks do trade him they will be trading his rights and dealing from a position of relative weakness.

Although even with that said, Shaw is just 24 years old, and there are likely to be a number of suitors if he does become available.
