Report: Blackhawks re-sign veteran forward after acquiring him in trade.

The Chicago Blackhawks have had a very busy day today.

Hot off the heels of announcing a big trade designed to free up some salary on their books by moving the contract of veteran Bryan Bickell, the Blackhawks have announced the signing of another veteran forward Richard Panik.

Panik was acquired by the Blackhawks in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs back in January in what was a forgettable deal with Chicago sending Jeremy Morin back the other way. However Panik obviously impressed Chicago during his short time with the team, and as a result they will be bringing him back next season.
