Report: Blackhawks rookie shaken up after crashing into boards at practice.

The Chicago Blackhawks had a bit of a scare in practice today.

According to a report from Chris Kuc of the Chicago Sun-Times, Blackhawks rookie forward Nick Schmaltz was shaken up during the practice after a hard crash into the boards, causing him to retreat to the locker room, presumably to be evaluated by trainers.

There is some good news however, despite the fact that Schmaltz did not return to the ice it appears that his injuries are only superficial with head coach Joel Quenneville stating that he expects Schmaltz to be ready when the Blackhawks face off against Winnipeg.

It's worth noting that Quenneville used the word "likely" so it is in theory possible that Schmaltz could still miss time.
