Sometimes players are criticized for not sticking with the teams that drafted them, but in the case of Mike Reilly it may have been the best possible career move. The young defenseman believes he's ready for the big leagues and after 6 goals and 32 assists in 42 games made him a point per game defenseman with the University of Minnesota this season it's hard to argue with him. Reilly refused to re-sign with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team that drafted him in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL draft, and as a result he is now officially a free agent, and one that likely comes with a relatively low price tag when compared to other free agent defenseman. Although Reilly is still unproven at the NHL level there are a multitude of teams who could use some extra depth on the blue line, especially when it comes with a cap friendly hit. Earlier this month Bob McKenzie reported that as many as nine teams were interested in signing him, those teams are CHI, CBJ, DET, EDM, LA, MIN, MTL, NYR, and PIT. You can bet he won't be a free agent very long.
