The Boston Bruins lost some veteran sandpaper in their lineup when it was announced late last month that Milan Lucic was arrested for an alleged domestic violence incident with his wife; he later pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery.
Are the Bruins looking to potentially replace him with a 3-time Stanley Cup winner who could soon be heading out of the door of his current location?
According to Boston Hockey Now, Minnesota Wild forward Pat Maroon could soon be on the trading block due to his style of play not meshing with new Wild head coach John Hynes despite their sudden resurgence of four straight wins following the firing of Dean Evason.
“I’m starting to hear his name out there,” an NHL executive source told BHN on Tuesday morning. “He doesn’t fit in with [John] Hynes’ up-tempo style and hasn’t brought everything they wanted when they traded for him.”
Maroon, who is playing in the final year of his contract, would likely not cost the Bruins any more than a 2024 seventh round pick, according to the above source.
In 23 games, he's scored three goals with eight assists and 15 PIM.
