Vancouver Canucks legend Alex Burrows makes his long awaited return to Vancouver tonight as his Ottawa Senators take on the Canucks at Rogers Arena

The veteran of 12 years and 822 games in a Canucks uniform was traded to Ottawa for prospect Jonathan Dahlen at last season’s NHL Trade Deadline and only now will he return to Vancouver to face the Canucks.

Burrows is a legend in Vancouver. The undrafted forward worked his way up from the ECHL and then the AHL to become a star player in the NHL playing on one of the league’s most dynamic offensive lines with Henrik and Daniel Sedin. Burrows’ 384 points in a Canucks uniform is good enough for 14th all-time in the team’s franchise record books. He’s also 6th in games played and 2nd in short handed goals.

There’s little doubt that Burrows will receive an loud ovation from the Canucks faithful when he takes the ice this evening. Cheer loudly, Canucks fans! Forever a Canuck!
