In case you missed it last night, Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien and Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Jamie Oleksiak, two of the biggest men in the entire NHL, collided at center ice in a hit that can only be described as epic.

That’s over 500 pounds of grown man getting tossed around!

Watch this clip of the hit and then notice how Byfuglien struggles to get to the bench afterward:

He’s clearly not right… looks like Big Buff got his bell rung.

Byfuglien did leave the game for a short period of time, but returned later in the 4-3 loss. Now, the Jets and Byfuglien are under investigation by the NHL to ensure that the team and the player followed the league’s proper concussion protocol on the play, this according to NHL insider Darren Dreger of TSN.

Good… frankly, Byfuglien should have NEVER been allowed back on the ice judging by how he reacted to that hit. The big man just had his brain scrambled and then was deemed healthy enough to compete in the NHL? Come on… have we learned nothing about traumatic brain injuries in the past decade?
