Report: Canadian club has room for Jagr!
Is it the perfect fit for the future Hall of Famer?
HockeyFeed
Unbelievable but true, veteran and future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr still hasn't sign with a National Hockey League team. The coveted free agent remains patient to find the right offer, thought the Calgary Flames and the Arizona Coyotes have expressed interest in signing him.
However, Matt Smith of All Habs Magazine reports that the Montreal Canadiens could be the perfect fit for the 45-year-old, and they have room for him.
Last season, Jagr agreed to a one-year, $4 million contract, with performance bonuses, with the Florida Panthers. Now a year older, Jagr could accept a lower value, and the Habs currently have $8.4 million in cap space, and could afford to sign him to a one-year deal.
The Canadiens could benefit from having Jagr in the fold, he who could motivate fellow countryman Tomas Plekanec, who struggled last season on the third line.
Habs GM Marc Bergevin took a chance last season with forward Alexander Radulov. He might want to do the same with Jagr this season.
