Who gets the call? Goldobin? Rodin? Boucher? Chaput?

According to a report from Sportsnet reporter and Vancouver Canucks insider Brendan Batchelor, the team is expected to make an AHL call-up before heading east for a five game road trip later today.

After starting the season 1-2-1 at home, the Canucks have a tough road schedule ahead of them with the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Wild all on tap. They’ll be without the services of veteran winger Loui Eriksson, who injured himself Saturday night against the Calgary Flames.

As far as injury replacements go, head coach Travis Green has been alternating Brock Boeser and Jake Virtanen into the team’s lineup, so look for both of them to land a full-time spot while an AHL call-up takes spot duty. Look for standout players from the AHL’s Utica Comets like Nikolay Goldobin, Reid Boucher, Anton Rodin or Michael Chaput to get a promotion later this afternoon.
