Report: Canucks’ prospect Demko earns top honors in AHL

Vancouver Canucks prospect Thatcher Demko has been named the AHL’s Goalie of the Month for October after compiling a 4-1-1 record in six starts with the Utica Comets.
The 21-year-old’s statistics during the month are absolutely mind boggling. His 1.82 GAA and .943 save percentage are tops in the league and have propelled the team to a 4-3-0-1 start.
Drafted in the 2nd round (36th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft as one of the first selections by Canucks GM Jim Benning, Demko has gone on to establish himself as the top goaltending prospect in all of hockey. The 6’4”, 195 lb native of San Diego, California looks to have a bright future ahead of him. Get excited for this kid, Canucks fans.
