Is defenseman Ethan Bear getting ready for another go around with the Vancouver Canucks, with whom he played last season? It appears that could be the case, if Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin has anything to do with it.

According to CHEK’s Rick Dhaliwal, the Canucks plan on "aggressively" pursuing Bear, who is currently a free agent and is back on the ice skating after having undergone shoulder surgery thanks to an injury suffered during the 2023 IIHF World Hockey Championship.

“The Vancouver Canucks are one of a lot of teams after Ethan Bear. I’ve been told the Canucks will be aggressive when it comes to signing Bear,” Dhaliwal said on the Donnie & Dhali show today. “They’re working the phones trying to get a defenseman right now."

However, one problem for the Canucks is that they currently have no available cap space, and would need to make room via trade in order to facilitate a signing of Bear.

Bear played 61 games with the Canucks last season, scoring three goals with 13 assists and 25 PIM.
