Report: Canucks to bench top young player
KeyStone Press

The Vancouver Canucks have announced changes to their lineup in anticipation of their matchup tonight against the Calgary Flames.

Jake Virtanen is pointless through 3 games, but he's looked strong through training camp and the beginning of the season. Like fellow youngster Brock Boeser, head coach Travis Green seems unwilling to let his kids develop by actually playing.

Alex Burmistrov, 25, is pretty young himself, and a former 8th overall pick - but he's failed to find any measure of success at the NHL level, also being held pointless through 2 games this season.

As for the goalie situation, Jacob Markstrom has looked solid and has earned the start tonight. Recently acquired Derrick Pouliot draws in, as Alex Edler is out at least 4-6 weeks with a MCL sprain.
