Through four games of the 2017-18 NHL season, goaltender Jacob Markstrom has carried the load for the Vancouver Canucks. While fans of the team have to be encouraged by his play so far, there’s a small minority who are clamouring for some Anders Nilsson action. And, judging by this morning’s informal skate in Ottawa, they may get their wish.

Signed in the offseason as a free-agent, the 27-year-old Swedish goaltender could make his Canucks debut tonight against the Ottawa Senators. He played 26 games with the hapless Buffalo Sabres in 2016-17 and sported a respectable 2.67 GAA and .923 Sv%.

Together with Markstrom, Nilsson is expected to battle it out for a share of the starting duties in Vancouver this season. Look for him to nail down more starts if he can put in a good effort this evening.
