Vancouver Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal is reporting that the team in not only actively pursuing free-agent defenseman Michael Del Zotto, but that Vancouver is the most likely destination for the 27 year-old defender. The former first round pick is expected to receive several offers once the free-agent window officially opens tomorrow afternoon, but Vancouver looks to be in position to land Del Zotto.
In 51 games with the Flyers last season Del Zotto produced six goals and 18 points. His career high of 10 goals and 41 points in 2011-12 hints at some more offensive capabilities, but the former first round draft pick has struggled to find consistency in his game with the New York Rangers, Nashville Predators and Flyers.
Might a change of scenery and life on the west coast help Del Zotto find his scoring touch again? Time will tell.
