Further to a report from yesterday evening courtesy of TSN’s Pierre LeBrun in which he broke the news that NHL veteran Jaromir Jagr is in negotiations with the Calgary Flames on a new deal for the 2017-18 season, Sportsnet reporter John Shannon has corroborated that report and added some juicy new details.
Check it out:
To think… in a little as 18 hours the whole Jagr saga could be over. Just a week ago it looked as if his NHL career was over and he’d be forced to return to the KHL or retire. Now, it looks like he’ll be joining his first Canadian team. The perfect way to cap off his career? So, where would he fit into the team's lineup?
Interesting. The story this whole time has been that Jagr was only interested in playing top minutes. Something must have changed in his mind, or Calgary must have convinced him that they have a unique opportunity. In any case, we're just happy he'll be back in the NHL!
