Report: Dennis Wideman defends his hit on NHL official last night.

As most of you probably know by now, Calgary Flame Dennis Wideman delivered a brutal hit to the back of linesman Don HendersonDon Henderson on Wednesday night, and the discussion surrounding the hit has been extremely polarizing.

There are many who think the hit to Henderson was a deliberate attack by Wideman, while many others are giving the veteran the benefit of the doubt, after all after several years in the league he's never done anything that resembles this.

Wideman was given the opportunity to explain his actions after the game and he insisted it was an accident, caused primarily by the hit he himself took just moments before colliding with Henderson.
