Ottawa Senators sophomore Ryan Dzingel broke out in a big way during the 2016-17 NHL season. The 25 year-old winger put up a respectable 14 goals and 32 points in his first full NHL campaign, after managing just nine points in 30 games in 2015-16.

With his previous one year, $750,000 contract expiring this past July 1st, Dzingel is reportedly seeking a new agreement that will give him a pay raise of over $1 million annually. Check out this report from Sportnet’s Elliotte Friedman:

The good news here is that Dzingel and the Senators don’t seem far apart. One would think that they can meet in the middle and come to an agreement before heading for arbitration on Friday afternoon.

So, what’s a fair price for Dzingel? $1.5 million seems like an absolute steal if he can replicate or even build of his success from last season.
