One of P.K. Subban's former teammates, Devante Smith-Pelly recently sat down with Cabral Richards for a long form interview and one of the topics that came up during their discussion was this summer's blockbuster trade.

Needles to say Smith-Pelly made some very noteworthy comments during that exchange and among them was indicating that he doesn't believe the rumors of locker room tensions with other players were true.

"I don't think a lot a guys were really rubbed the wrong way, I don't think anyone in the room cared that much about his personality, why does it matter if someone else is having fun? "

At the end of the day it sounds like Smith-Pelly believes head coach Michel Therrien was the driving force behind the move.

"I could see when I was there that his personality and I guess the coaches personality just didn't work."

Smith-Pelly also seemed to hint at something more, put tip toed around the issue when he referenced an old school mentality.

"I felt the old school vibes, there's some things that happened... just little things that happened to me personally you could tell it was super super old school."

When pressed by Cabbie to go into detail, Smith-Pelly would not elaborate but the implication of some impropriety here is scandalous enough.

"Just some things, and some things happened and the way I was dealt with when those things happened... were maybe not what I agreed with and I'll leave it at that."
