The scene is all too familiar. Carey Price is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, and no one really knows what's going on with him.
Montreal Canadiens star netminder was replaced by Al Montoya as the team's starter, as he sustained what is currently being described as a minor lower-body injury.
Evidently, the Canadiens' are trying to make sure not to cause widespread panic, because we all know what happened last time they were coy about what was ailing Price.
The famous 2015-16 season saw the Canadiens plummet to the bottom of the NHL standings and lose Price from November until the end of the season. They were never clear on what his injury was, and kept providing hope that he'd return.
Nick Kypreos announced on Sportsnet Saturday night that the injury is to Price's knee, which is definitely a cause for concern, as Eric Engels puts it.
Most Habs fans are getting déjà vu from two seasons ago, and can only imagine the headlines if this injury extends itself beyond a week.
Price is having a tough season so far, but everyone knows he has it in him to turn it around. The season is already in jeopardy for Montreal, this would be the nail in the coffin.
