The goalie triage in the NHL’s newest market may soon be over. According to Vegas Golden Knights head coach Gerard Gallant, goalie Malcolm Subban will be travelling with the team on their upcoming road trip and could make a return to the net sooner rather than later.

The 23-year-old Subban was claimed off of waivers from the Boston Bruins in October and earned his first career NHL win in his first start for the Knights. After starting just three games for Vegas though, Subban suffered an injury and has yet to play since. With starter Marc-Andre Fleury also on the IR and with third stringer Oscar Dansk also injured, Subban can’t get back into the lineup quickly enough for the expansion club.

No official return date has been set for Subban, but the speculation is that he’s now more “day-to-day” than “week-to-week”. Sit tight, Knights fan. Help could be on the way.
