According to multiple reports, the Vancouver Canucks are testing the trade market for forward Nikolay Goldobin.

In his latest 31 Thoughts column for Sportsnet, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reports that Canucks general manager Jim Benning is “looking to see what’s out there” for Goldobin, indicating that a trade could soon be coming.

I think Vancouver’s looking to see what’s out there for Nikolay Goldobin.

Friedman’s Sportsnet colleague John Shannon reiterated that Goldobin could be on the move and it’s not due to a lack of chances. The 23 year old former first round pick (27th overall in 2014) has a career high 23 points in 41 games this season and has looked especially good alongside Canucks super rookie Elias Peterson.

Shannon on Goldobin : Travis has given Goldobin so many chances. I liked him at the start with Pettersson but, the chances cannot continue if there aren't results outside of assists.

Away from Pettersson though, things have been different for Goldobin. While on Bo Horvat’s wing, Goldobin has gone pointless this season.
