Sad news in the hockey world as we have learned the death of a former Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick and Team Canada member, Mitch Fadden.
Drafted in the 4th round (107 total) in 2007, Fadden was also part Team Canada U18 gold medal in Czech Republic in 2005.
According to several, he had amazing skills but his demons got the best of him. He was only 29.
''Sad to hear of the passing of ‘88 born Mitch Fadden former @WHLHurricanes on our ‘08 WHL Finalist team & was on the Gold Medal ‘05 U18 Team Canada team that I was apart of in CZ Rep. Unbelievable natural skill. #gamechanger #RIPFads''
''4th round pick of the Lightning in 2007, battled many issues on and off the ice. #RIP''
Fadden made it to the AHL for the Norfolk Admirals and ended up his professionnal career in 2011-12 for the Utah Grizzlies in the ECHL.
Our thoughts and prayers goes to his family and friends.
