Report: Former Penguins forward signs in… South Korea?
Keystone Press

The Daemyung Killer Whales of the ALIH have announced that they’ve signed former Pittsburgh Penguins and Arizona Coyotes forward Matt Murley to a one year contract.

Penguins fans may remember Murley as the team’s second round pick (51st overall) from way back in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Marley ended up suiting up for just 62 NHL games during his 14 year pro career, with all but three coming with the Penguins franchise. After stints in the KHL, Swedish Elite League and German DEL, Murley joined the ALIH last season, scoring 19 goals and 63 points with the Oji Eagles. Even at 37 years of age, the veteran forward finished 5th in league scoring.

Interestingly, the Killer Whales have also hired former Penguins head coach Kevin Constantine to run the bench in 2017-18. Who’s next? Jagr?
