He was a Cup Finals hero just a few years ago.
In a surprising announcement on Monday the Boston Bruins parted ways with veteran forward Maxime Talbot, placing him on waivers for any team to claim.
Talbot was expected to play a veteran depth role as a member of the Bruins fourth line this season, but reportedly the work of prospects in camp has shown general manager Don Sweeney enough that he's ready to move on from Talbot.
It appears that Boston is looking to Tyler Randell to fill Talbot's shoes on the roster, and now for Talbot he will need to find another NHL team if he hopes to continue his career in the league.
While he may not be the player he once was, his brand of veteran depth and leadership for less a million dollar cap hit could prove enticing.
