An awesome feel good moment coming up tonight.
It's going to be good to see Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello hit the ice once again on Thursday.
Zuccarello was knocked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs when a shot from one of his teammates struck him in the side of the head and resulted in a brain contusion, an injury that Zuccarello admits horrified him,
"Right away my thought was, 'How's my life going to be like this? I can't talk, I can't function.' And after that it was, 'Am I going to play again?'" Zuccarello said as per NHL.com.
Zuccarello was unable to return in the playoffs and the Rangers would go on to lose to the Lightning, many felt Zuccarello's absence was a major factor in the series loss for New York.
Now the Rangers' forward will return to the ice for the first time since his scary injury and he hopes he can return to his old form.
"I'll just have to see when I get out there," Zuccarello said. "That's part of my game, being gritty and going into dirty areas. That's how I have to play; and hopefully I'm going to do that, and that's my mindset to do that."
Welcome back Mats.
