Veteran forward Jiri Hudler has finally signed a new deal.

Despite coming off a very respectable season Hudler was having a hard time gaining a great deal of traction with teams in free agency and the rumored deal he finally did sign to join the Dallas Stars would seem to indicate that as well.

According to a report from Sonny Sachdeva of Today's Slap Shot, he has been informed former National Hockey League player by agent Peter Svoboda that Hudler has agreed to a one-year deal worth a reported $2 million.

It's also worth noting that at 32 years of age, Hudler may have been willing to take a discount to play for a team he feels will have an opportunity to compete for a championship this season, although that is purely speculative.
