The Toronto Maple Leafs are officially without a general manager for the time being after the decision by team president Brendan Shanahan to not bring him back for what would have been a 6th season on the job.

And while it appears as though Dubas is zeroing in on the recently vacated Pittsburgh Penguins job, the Leafs may be closing in on their new general manager. According to NHL Insider Andy Strickland, the job is former Calgary Flames GM Brad Treliving's to lose.

Toronto's reported interest in Treliving was also supported by Elliotte Friedman in his latest 32 Thoughts column:

"Brad Treliving is expected to be in Toronto this week to meet with the Maple Leafs. Obviously, he won’t be the only interviewee. There’s a ton of interest in this job, but as the organization began to consider alternatives to Dubas, Treliving was very high on the list."

Treliving was hired by the Flames as their general manager in April of 2014, a position he held until the conclusion of this season.
