When a team commits big money to a player, you can imagine they want results. Unfortunately for St.Louis Blues forward Paul Stastny, his play was far from what the team expected this season. After signing a four-year $28-million contract last offseason, general manager Doug Armstrong voiced his displeasure with his play. "Paul Stastny needs to be a bigger part of our group," Armstrong told Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. "He’s our highest-paid player, we need him to be a bigger and better part of our team." In his first season with the Blues, the 29-year-old had 16 goals and 46 points in 74 games, the lowest total of his career and only managed one goal in six games during the postseason. The Blues are definitely running out of time to prove that their current roster can be successful. Stastny's poor play is just one of the hurdles the Blues will have to face next season. Hopefully he can bounce back.
