According to a report from Toronto Maple Leafs insider David Alter, the team appears to have hired former NHL goalie Curtis McElhinney in some sort of coaching, scouting or development role. Alter reports that the former Leafs netminder who retired in 2021 has been seen at team practices, sporting a Leafs team jacket.
From Alter:
As Alter points out, the Leafs' former goaltending coach/consultant left for a job with the Pittsburgh Penguins, presumably to follow former Leafs GM Kyle Dubas. You could do a lot worse than McElhinney in that role, however. Stay tuned for an official announcement from the club.
