The Montreal Canadiens have signed a young goaltender.

While the Canadiens themselves have made no announcement, their affiliate team the Laval Rocket is now reporting that 23-year-old Charlie Lindgren has agreed to a one-year contract, the terms were not disclosed.

Fans of the Canadiens will best remember Lindgren for his outstanding performance in two games with the Habs last season, two games that saw him record a 1.48 goals against average and a .949 save percentage.

Former CTV analyst Brian Wilde is already speculating about how long the Habs can hope to hold on to Lindgren considering that there is no room for him to become a starter with Carey Price having a firm grasp on that position.
