Report: Hall of Famer ready to take a NHL job

Doug Gilmour his ready to work at a higher level, as he said on Sportsnet Radio on Tuesday. The Hall of Famer, who played 1474 games in the NHL, is working with the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL since 2008. He first served as a head coach, and has switched to the General Manager role since 2011.

He coached players such as Erik Gudbranson, Ryan Spooner and Philip Grubauer , and as a GM he drafted Sam Bennett and Lawson Crouse. Since Gilmour took over as the team’s General Manager, they made the playoffs in five consecutive seasons.

Over the course of his career, Gilmour, drafted 134th overall by the St. Louis Blues in 1982, played 1474 games, registering 1414 total points, and added 188 points in 182 playoff games. He played for St. Louis, the Calgary Flames, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the New Jersey Devils, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Buffalo Sabres and the Montreal Canadiens
