Report: Hextall reveals plan of action as many D-men are injured

The Philadelphia Flyers are dealing with a string of injuries to their blue line and it has some concerned.

People are calling for a trade to replace the losses of Shayne GostisbehereAndrew MacDonald and Radko Gudas - but that may not be the wisest solution in this case.

Gostisbehere and Gudas are both dealing with concussion symptoms but aren't expected to be out too long. MacDonald can likely be replaced by Samuel Morin soon enough when the latter gets over what appears to be a minor nagging issue.

Ron Hextall explained to the Philadelphia Inquirer that “one reason you have depth is for when you get in situations like this. Unfortunately, some of our depth is hurt, too. But to add a guy for a week and [then others return], you have too many players. It doesn’t make a lot of sense.”

Nolan Patrick is also dealing with a concussion, but both he and Gostisbehere could be back as soon as this Saturday. Mark Alt and Will O'Neill stepped in Thursday night against the St. Louis Blues, although they were very limited in their ice time, barely accruing 20 minutes combined.

Ultimately when it comes to these injuries, Hextall says "That’s life. Go with what you’ve got.”

Do you agree with Hextall? Should they just ride out the storm?

Who are some players you'd like to see be called up if no trades are made?
