Report: Hockey Canada to shut down minor/youth leagues

According to NHL insider Darren Dreger or TSN, Hockey Canada held a conference call today to determine whether or not its federations should continue to operate given the evolving coronavirus outbreak and the mass hysteria surrounding it.

Hockey Canada has conducted a couple of significant conference calls today. I expect a statement regarding the status of minor hockey in Canada to be issued tonight.

As expected and according to release: The Hockey Canada Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel all Hockey Canada-sanctioned activities, including our national championships, until further notice, effective Friday, March 13, 2020.

And in fact one federation, and a large one at that, has elected to shut down its 2019-20 season. Hockey Quebec has confirmed that it will cease all minor hockey activities until further notice.
