The Gorton's fish stick logo is back!

This past weekend there were reports that the Vancouver Canucks' retro-reverse jersey had been leaked by a fan on social media. Reaction to the 'Johnny Canuck' logo'd jersey was mixed, but I kinda love it...
Check it out:
Kinda cool, right?
I'm not sure I love the shade of blue and green, but the logo itself is fantastic.
Now today, there are reports that the New York Islanders' retro reverse jersey has been leaked and... get this... it'll feature the infamous Fisherman logo, which bears a striking resemblance to the Gorton's fish stick logo.
I mean... just look:
More from NYI Hockey Now:
NYI Hockey Now is hearing from league sources that the New York Islanders 2022-23 Reverse Retro jersey will encompass the Fisherman logo and style.
These new uniforms will not be exact replicas of the jersey set the New York Islanders wore from 1995-1997, with a different, darker shade of blue, believed to be kind of similar to the Islanders’ 2019-20 Reverse Retro color.
However, like the 1995-96 jerseys, the player names and numbers are believed to be white and outlined in orange.
The New York Islanders, whether it be in their store at the brand new UBS Arena or the store at their practice facility in East Meadow, have been pushing fisherman apparel.
It would make sense that The Fisherman is making a comeback.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the Gorton's style logo, but I do love a good dose of nostalgia. Frankly, this is one jersey that I'm looking forward to seeing, mainly to see if they do indeed bring teal back into the Islanders' color scheme. Stay tuned.
