Another day, another hot Jaromir Jagr rumor. One of these reports has gotta come true, right?

A week and a half into the NHL’s free-agency period and future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr still remains without a contract. During the past 10 days it seems as though 10 different destinations have surfaced for the 45 year-old living legend, but he has yet to put pen to paper.

Now, a dubious rumor from a dubious source claims that he may be on his way out west to play for the Calgary Flames. Notorious blogger and NHL insider Eklund claims:

“Jagr and Calgary are very interested in working out a deal. One source told me that Iginla to Calgary was a not likely, but Jagr was 90%.”

Interesting development if true, but take it for what it’s worth. While we reserve our judgement on rumor and opinion, Eklund’s track record of being accurate on these sorts of things is not great. Having said that, Jagr could be a good fit for the Flames’ offense. His size and playmaking ability could free up a ton of space for players like Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan. He’d also be an intriguing option to play alongside youngster Sam Bennett, in the hopes of igniting his offense for 2017-18.

So, what do you think Flames fans? Would you welcome Jagr in Calgary? Or, would his addition just become a sideshow circus?
