Calgary Flames defenseman Travis Hamonic left his team practice Saturday with an apparent injury. The team updated his status later in the day, and let's say this is not good news for the St.Malo, Manitoba native.
As reported by beat writer Kristen Odland, Hamonic will not be playing tomorrow against the New Jersey Devils. His status will be re-evaluated later next week. The Flames are playing their next four games at home, and they'll certainly try to take this opportunity to improve their 7-6-0 record.
Hamonic, 27, was drafted 53rd overall by the New York Islanders in 2008. He was traded to Calgary during last draft with a fourth round pick in 2019 for a first round pick in 2018 and two second round picks in 2019. In his first season with the Flames, he has two points in 13 games played.
He played 457 games in the NHL, registering 148 points. He added four points in 17 playoff games.
