EDITOR'S NOTE: This is an update to our earlier published report in light of new information.

This just in from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Oilers have elected to inject defensemen Phillip Broberg and Kris Russell into the lineup with Darnell Nurse out due to suspension. Forward Warren Foegle also comes out of the lineup to make room. In other words, the Oilers are going with 7 D in an effort to make up for Nurse's absence.

With their season on the line in a must win Game 6 against the Los Angeles Kings tonight, the Edmonton Oilers are loading up their top line with superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

Head coach Jay Woodcroft has elected to put McDavid and Draisaitl together on the team's top line for this evening after electing to keep them apart for most of the series. It was only late in Game 5 that the two were paired together and it was at that point that they went on an absolute tear offensively.

The lines from gameday skate this morning:

Previously, Woodcroft had Evander Kane in Draisaitl's spot on the 1st line while Draisaitl skated alongside Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. It looks now like Kane will get bumped down a line and the McDavid/Draisaitl 1/2 punch will be FLYING in Game 6. Drop the puck!
