Mike Babcock has been running a rotation on the 3rd defense pairing as well as the 4th line center role. Calle Rosen and Andreas Borgman are essentially fighting for a spot alongside Connor Carrick, while Eric Fehr and Dominic Moore are battling it out a spot between Matt Martin and Connor Brown.
Fehr doesn't seem pleased with the situation - having this to say to Sportsnet this morning.
“It’s not ideal for either of us, but we’ve both taken advantage of our opportunities in the lineup. We’re pushing each other. We’re pushing to get ourselves in the lineup.”
He continued to say that “[He's] not sure what [Babcock’s] thought process is. We haven’t discussed it at all. You show up. If your name’s on the board, you’re in.”
Fehr has no idea when this rotation will end - Babcock expressed that it could end around the 10 game mark, but nothing is set in stone as of yet.
The veteran added a final tid bit.
“Players like to get into routines. That’s a big thing in this sport, getting into a groove. You see guys when they’re on a hot streak how much better they handle the puck. You see their game ramping up.”
