Report: Leafs hit prospect Nick Robertson with an ultimatum

This was going to be the season where Nick Robertson finally put it all together. 

Or wait... was that last season? Maybe it was the season before actually?

In all seriousness, the Toronto Maple Leafs' prospect has been on the team's radar for a few seasons now but his NHL emergence has been halted by injury and by the Leafs' own roster crunch. Robertson was hopeful to make the Leafs' lineup in training camp this season but fell short yet again. In the meantime, he's been stellar with the team's AHL affiliate Toronto Marlies with three goals and six points in just four games. So... when will he be back up with the Leafs?

Well, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reports that the Leafs have served Robertson with an ultimatum of sorts. According to Friedman, the Leafs' brass told Robertson that he's going to have to force his way onto the team and "give (them) a reason."

I've gotta say... the kid's doing about all he can to get back on the big club. If he keeps it up he'll get his opportunity soon enough.
